She has devoted 34 years of full-time working experience in managing programs, people and systems in the Vermont Judiciary and Agency of Human Services. She served 20 years as County Clerk and Superior Court Manager for the 3rd largest County in Vermont. She has been honored with awards for innovative case flow management, human resources development and overall court and county administration. For the past 15 years she has been recognized as a leader in Substance Abuse Prevention for the Vermont Department of Health and the Agency of Human Services. In her capacity she has consulted to stake holders, facilitated community mobilization and coalition building, and designed and delivered customized training that supports the goals of communities, organizations, families and individuals.
Ms. Romano holds a Comprehensive Life Coach Certification with Coach Institute, Pa., USA. She also has a license and certification in Prevention with the International Consortium of Addiction and Prevention Credentialing Boards (ICRC). She serves as an Adult Dialogue Education instructor for Global Learning Partners, Inc., Toronto, Canada. She also teaches training of trainers for Health Realization. Jo is a top-notch facilitation leader and trainer. She graduated with honors from Johnston State College in Vermont.

She is an International Certified Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist and provides prevention coaching, consultation, technical assistance, and training to community coalitions, schools, families and the workplace. She especially enjoys training and mentoring aspiring prevention specialists to succeed in their careers.
Jo is affiliated with Global Learning Partners, Inc. of Toronto, Ontario and is a Master Teacher of "Learning to Listen, Learning to Teach", an internationally acclaimed 30-hour course on learning-centered approach to adult dialogue education. She has taught “Managing a Learning Organization” course for the Public Administration Graduate Program at the University of Vermont. She is a Health Realization teacher based on Sidney Banks work the three principals of Mind, Consciousness and Thought. She designed and taught courses as an adjunct faculty at Woodbury College in Vermont, and Community College of Vermont. Jo has delivered hundreds of trainings custom- designed for the unique objectives of her clients.
Jo is a member of The International Coach Federation, The Coach Institute, The Coaching Center of Vermont and 24/7 Coaching. She is appointed to serve on the Governor’s Council on Domestic Violence in Vermont. She consults to Substance Abuse Prevention planning task forces, the Advisory Board for Woodbury College in Vermont, The Central Vermont Regional Partnership, State of Vermont’s Safe and Drug Free Consultation and Facilitation Team.
She is founder and coordinator for “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” a volunteer community service-based program connecting and building relationships among neighbors in Central Vermont.
Jo lives in Montpelier, Vermont overlooking breathtaking green mountains and snowy white winters with her husband, Dan and their two beautiful children, Jaimen and Natessa. Life is not complete without Scooter, the family’s trusty dog.
